An essential function required of all companies – particularly high growth companies – is ongoing planning. Therefore, after the development of the Strategic Plan, each year Sentry works with the portfolio company’s executive management (i) to prepare the following year’s budget, and (ii) to reassess and update the strategic plan.
The budget meetings normally occur in late November or early December so that the company has a clear plan for the upcoming year. The ongoing strategic planning meetings normally occur in early summer so that all participants have several months before the next budget meeting to assess marketplace changes and company progress.
