PRIVATE EQUITY

Target Companies

Sentry makes investments in emerging growth companies, i.e., smaller companies with a proven business model and significant growth potential.  In other words, the companies in which Sentry seeks to make equity investments are typically within the five industry focus areas (Alternative Energy, Medical Technologies, Financial Services, Entertainment, and the Internet) and are typically not start-up companies (except in the Internet space); and they normally have three common characteristics:

  • they have demonstrated the ability to produce or provide a product or service at a cost that can be sold to the market at a reasonable profit;
  • there is a large market for the company’s products or services; and
  • the company needs a combination of investment capital and management guidance to exploit the market opportunity.
Sentry normally seeks out companies with current revenues of between $2,000,000 and $20,000,000, although smaller and larger companies are also considered.
