Terry A. Isom (age 63): Mr. Isom, M.B.A., C.P.A., is a Senior Vice President, Finance Programs, of Sentry, in which capacity he is the team leader in charge of accounting and tax issues, and is integrally involved in program and transaction structuring.

Prior to joining Sentry, Mr. Isom was a Vice President with Terex Financial Services and Genie Financial Services. Both Terex and Genie manufacture material and personnel lift equipment as well as construction and utility related equipment. Mr. Isom was a co-founder of Genie Financial Services, a captive leasing subsidiary of Genie Industries. Mr. Isom was in charge of strategic planning, sales forecasting, and production scheduling for the manufacturing side of Genie.

Mr. Isom was a founder and former partner in the training and consulting firm of Amembal & lsom. During his 15 year association with Amembal & Isom, Mr. Isom conducted seminars on over 40 equipment leasing and financing subjects throughout the United States as well as Europe and the Pacific Rim, and trained in excess of 20,000 students. Mr. Isom has consulted extensively for companies ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. He has assisted in establishing captive finance companies for such notable companies as Johnson & Johnson, AT&T, GTE and Dana Corporation.

Mr. Isom is the author of Asset Financing Strategies (1994), a book addressing the issues of lease vs. buy and sale-leasebacks. Mr. Isom is the primary author on five books on leasing, the most noteworthy of which are: The Handbook of Equipment Leasing (1988), Leasing for Profit (1980), Handbook of Leasing: Techniques and Analysis (1982), and Guide to Captive Finance Company Equipment Leasing (1984).

Mr. Isom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He passed the CPA exam with national honors (Elijah Watts Sells Award for the 3 top scores) and received the Utah State Gold Medal for the highest score. Upon graduation with his MBA degree from the University of Utah, he was elected class valedictorian and designated Dean’s Scholar.

Early in his career, Mr. Isom was a member of the University of Utah’s accounting faculty. During this period he consistently ranked among the top three instructors (out of a total business faculty of 70) based on student evaluations. He taught both undergraduate courses in finance and accounting and graduate courses in managerial accounting. Prior to joining the accounting faculty, Mr. Isom was a senior financial analyst for the University of Utah, working for Dr. James Fletcher, former head of NASA.
